Schalk was admitted as an attorney in 1978, as a Conveyancer in 1980 and as a Notary Public in 1985. He has extensive experience in property related work both in commercial and residential developments. This wealth of experience and expertise has seen Schalk acting as a project coordinator for a number of property development projects, commercial and residential. He also serves on the boards of directors of various property development and investment companies.

In recognition of his experience in Real Estate work, Schalk has, for more than ten years, served as a member of the Property Law Committee of the Pretoria Attorneys Association and was for two terms, during that time, the Chairperson of the Property Law Committee of the Pretoria Attorneys Association. Schalk has also served on the Standing Committee for Property Lawyers of the Law Society of the Northern Provinces, and is a member of the Disciplinary Tribunal of the Law Society.

Geoff Ferreira - B Proc LLM Dip Insol CFE   (read more)

Geoff was admitted as an attorney in 1981. Geoff who is also a Certified Fraud Examiner has extensive experience in Company Law in general and is regularly consulted by insolvency practitioners on a wide range of insolvency related matters and is regularly requested to serve as presiding officer in insolvency enquiries.

He is a guest lecturer in Company Law, Forensic Accounting and Fraud Investigations at the University of Pretoria. Geoff has acted as a panelist at the National Conference on the New Bankruptcy Act with a focus on Personal Liability of Directors and Auditors for Company Debts.

Jan van Wyk - B Com B Proc Dip Insol   (read more)

Jan was admitted as an attorney in 1992 and as a Conveyancer in 1997. Jan has extensive experience in Commercial Law, drafting of Commercial Agreements, Insolvency Law, Family Law and Insurance Law. He also specializes in insurance related work and acts on behalf of several insurance and related companies. As a conveyancer, Jan also deals with property related and property development issues and acted as Project Manager on Commercial Property Developments. Jan is the Managing Partner of the firm and he is also involved both in a managerial as well as in an advisory capacity in other companies and business initiatives.

Sipho was admitted as an attorney in 1995 commencing practice as a commercial lawyer with Edward Nathan & Friedland. Sipho left Edward Nathan in June 1999 and moved to Investment Banking with Brait Capital Partners, Gensec and the Development Bank of South Africa. Organised business appealed to Sipho and in answer to this call, he served as a Chief Executive Officer of the National African Federated Chamber of Commerce (NAFCOC), a federation of organized black business for 3 years and thereafter he was the CEO of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of South Africa CHAMSA (an amalgamation of SACOB, NAFCOC, AHI and FABCOS) for 3 years. Sipho is currently the CEO of the Association of SADC Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ASCCI), a regional private sector organization representing 18 chambers of commerce and industry in all 14 countries forming the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region. Sipho serves on the executive council of Business Unity South Africa (BUSA), the National Economic Development and Labour Council (NEDLAC) and is a member of the Securities Regulations Panel (SRP).  

Fani Dingiswayo - B Proc H Dip (Co Law)   (read more)

Fani was admitted as an attorney in 1999. He joined Bowman Gilfillan in 2000 and during his stay there focused on Corporate Commercial Litigation and Dispute Resolution. Fani has extensive experience in litigation and dispute resolution in the Magistrates' Courts, the High Courts and arbitral panels.

Fani also gives advice to businesses on different business aspects and the law, drafts commercial agreements and has experience in due diligence investigations.
Melissa Maritz - BA LLB   (read more)

Melissa completed her BA degree in 1995 and an LLB degree in 2003. She was admitted as an attorney on 26 August 2003. Before joining VFV MSELEKU, Melissa was a clerk to the then Judge President of the Transvaal Provincial Division Honourable Mr Justice Ngoepe of the High Court of South Africa. In this capacity Melissa was exposed to all the intricacies of litigation in the High Court and to high profile litigation.

At VFV MSELEKU Melissa has been involved in matters in the Competition Tribunal, high profile High Court matters, the Labour Court, the CCMA and various arbitrations in terms of the Arbitration Act and agreements between the parties.

Bertus completed his LLB degree and was admitted as an attorney on 26 August 2003. He is a Partner and specializes in Commercial Litigation, Family and Corporate Law as well as Corporate Recoveries.

At VFV MSELEKU Bertus has been involved in matters in high profile High Court matters, the Labour Court, and various arbitrations in terms of the Arbitration Act and in the drafting of commercial agreements. The high profile experience in commercial litigation gained at the High Court and in practice has placed Bertus in a vantage position to advise on commercial agreements and corporate in general.
Amorie Le Roux - LLB, LLM (VAT, Environmental Law, Estate Duty, Transfer Duty and Donations Tax)   (read more)

Amorie completed her LLB and LLM degrees and was admitted as an attorney on 6 January 2004 and as a Conveyancer and a Notary Public on 26 February 2004. She is a Partner and specializes in all aspects of Real Estate Law including Ordinance Township Establishments, Chapters V and VI DFA opening of Subdivision Registers in respect of Land Development Areas, Subdivisions, Consolidations and Servitudes.

A member of the Property Law Committee of the Pretoria Attorneys Association, Amorie lectures conveyancing support staff and estate agents on a variety of Real Estate Law related subjects. Because of Amorie's experience clients are advised to involve her from inception of developments.
